When I was little, I loved writing stories. I had the most vivid imagination, and often had various scenarios in my mind that I would write down. I wrote poems and skits that won awards at literature eisteddfods, such as the poem “My Pet Mouse”. At the age of 7, I was convinced I was going to become a famous novelist one day. It was only when I came to high school and had assessment where we had to write short stories that were marked by teachers, that I found out my story writing abilities weren’t that great. Each time, the marks I would get for them would be lower and lower, resulting in my imaginative mind and hope of becoming a famous novelist depleted - and I guess, I forgot about becoming a writer. Somewhere around my room or hidden in dusty boxes, are probably countless of my unfinished stories, such as “The Nature Sorcerer”, or “Lily Stone and the Deaubaxton Magical Academy” - a story loosely based on Harry Potter. But then today, as I was cleaning out my inbox, I found an unmarked draft; another unfinished story that I had begun writing in year 7. Reading it now, makes me smile and laugh as I remember how creative and weird my mind used to be. I wish I could write like that again.

The Sails of Sydney Opera House
German design group URBANSCREEN transformed the Sydney Opera House into a playground for enormous digital dancers. There are so many layers of WOW to this. Not only to they project the images across multiple levels of the roof, but as the dancers move across the roof, tiles seem to open and we see the illusion of light shining through. I can’t begin to imagine the curve-fitting plots and 3-D computational design that went into this.
I love the finale, where the roof appears to collapse like a sail that’s lost its wind. Amazing combination of computer design, complex math and art.

Salute to the Red, White, and Blue! It’s been confirmed that the other man of steel will be donning the patriotic suit created by Norman Osborne (yes, from Spider-man), though (obviously) neither Osborne nor Spider-man will be making an appearance in the movie.
Kinda makes you wish we lived in an alternate universe where Marvel owned the film rights to ALL of their characters eh?
Hey, Steve. It looks like Tony wants to replace your place with all this patriotism, huh?
